HC Deb 04 July 1940 vol 362 cc1025-6W
Brigadier-General Clifton Brown

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether the producer of liquid milk will receive the full 1½d. a gallon extra which is promised to the Milk Board pool, or whether the Milk Board can distribute the pool price as it likes?

Mr. Boothby

The guaranteed return to the milk producer will be increased by 1½d. per gallon over and above the previous increase announced by the Government in March last. Consequently, the pool price to producers for July, August and September will be 4d., 4d. and 4½d. per gallon, respectively, in excess of the pool price for the corresponding month in 1939.
