HC Deb 04 July 1940 vol 362 cc1035-6W
Mr. Joel

asked the Minister of Health whether he will give directions for the carcases of dogs and cats, that are having to be destroyed in many coastal towns because of the possibility of the population being compulsorily evacuated, to be accepted by the local authorities for destruction in the town incinerators; and whether, where such incinerators do not exist, other arrangements can be made by the local authorities, such as the burial of the carcases in trenches?

Mr. M. MacDonald

I have no doubt that local authorities will co-operate with the owners of dead dogs or cats so far as may be practicable in the circumstances.
