§ Mr. Hunterasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the roads may be made more safe for motor drivers, pedestrians and cyclists if permission be given for motor-cars to carry two masked headlamps; that experiments with two masked headlamps show that the beams cover the whole of the roadway without throwing light further ahead that might help enemy aircraft; and will he consider this suggestion to reduce the strain on drivers and to lessen the number of accidents and deaths on the public highways?
