Captain Pluģģeasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the increasing cost of living and the high prices of the necessities of life make it impossible for most people to accept billeted soldiers at the rate of payment prescribed; and, as these payments were fixed when the cost of living was lower than now and to avoid undue resentment which exists among householders who have to suffer loss through providing such billets, whether he proposes to raise the billeting charges?
