§ Mr. Boothbyasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when he proposes to lay before the House the regulations governing the new Potato Marketing Scheme; and whether time will be afforded for their discussion?
§ Mr. MorrisonThe levy will be imposed by a Treasury Order under Subsection (1) of Section 2 of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939, and the Order will be laid before the House in accordance with the provisions of Subsections (3) and (4), the latter of which requires approval by resolution of the House. The regulations governing other provisions of the Scheme will be the subject of an Order under Regulation 55 of the Defence (General) Regulations, 1939.
