§ Mr. McGovernasked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that the price of fish at present, in Glasgow, varies from 1s. 9d. to 3s. 6d. per lb., which is beyond the means of a large number of families, and if he can explain the reason for this profiteering; and what steps he intends to take in order to provide fish at a reasonable price?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonAccording to my information, fish prices in Glasgow although liable to wide variation from day to day according to fluctuations in supply, have on the whole been much below the level stated by the hon. Member. I have no evidence of profiteering, but if the2082W hon. Member will furnish me with any instances, I shall be glad to have further inquiry made.
