§ Mr. Jacksonasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that many elementary schools cannot get their usual supply of milk; and, as the reason for this shortage is that suppliers cannot get feeding-stuffs for their cows, will he confer with the Minister of Food with a view to devising a remedy?
§ Sir R. Dorman-SmithI understand that, owing to the recent exceptional weather conditions, some difficulties were experienced in the collection and distribution of milk, but, apart from this, I was not aware of any general difficulty in supplying milk to schools. The consumption of milk in schools during January showed an increase compared with December and November. If, however, the hon. Member will furnish me with particulars of any schools where a shortage of milk is being experienced, I will have inquiries made.
