Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to- the recent destruction of an East Coast resort pier by a German mine, and to the fact that the damage will cost between £5,000 and £10,000 to repair; and whether he can give any indication as to whether, under the Government scheme dealing with damage to fixed property by enemy action, any allowance will be granted to the proprietors of this pier from public funds to assist them in making good the damage?
