WarrenderOn 10th February, approximately 120,300 claims had been received, of which 850 had lapsed owing to the non-receipt of an associated claim from either the soldier or his dependant, and 20,100 were still in course of investigation. Of the balance, 37,500 had been allowed and 61,850 rejected. In approximately 46,500 of the cases rejected, the soldier stated that he did not wish to make an allotment from his pay if an allowance was not given. Separate figures for married and single men are not available.
