HC Deb 06 February 1940 vol 357 c68W
Mr. E. Smith

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he can make a statement on what arrangements are to be made to see that vehicles run on producer-gas are able to secure adequate supplies of fuel and to stabilise the price of such fuel?

Mr. Lloyd

Information with regard to the availability of fuel suitable for these vehicles is given in the report of the Committee on the Emergency Conversion of Motor Vehicles to Producer-Gas, which is available to-day. My Department has been in close touch for some time with producers of this fuel, and I understand that the latter have now made arrangements for supplying it to consumers at a price which has been determined after very careful consideration.
