HC Deb 06 February 1940 vol 357 c46W
Mr. Ridley

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade what special steps he is taking to secure a proper supply of batteries for persons compelled to use electric instruments for the relief of deafness?

Major Lloyd George

The Board of Trade have impressed on the principal manufacturers the importance they attach to meeting the requirements of deaf persons for such batteries, and are always ready to take up with them individual cases of difficulty. I have no evidence of any widespread shortage.
