Mr. Rostron Duckworthasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has made any calculation of the benefit which would accrue to the revenue in Income Tax, Surtax, Death Duties, Stamp Duties, and other ways if sufficient compensation is paid to the railways to enable them to place their financial arrangements on a sound basis?
