Mr. McKieasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether it is proposed to increase the sugar allowance for the purposes of preserving during the forthcoming harvest of the blackberry and apple crop, as was done recently with regard to other fruits?
§ Mr. BoothbyThe special allowances of sugar for fruit preservation which have been made to householders and to fruit preservation depots, and the additional allocations which are being made to jam manufacturers can be used for preserving any available fruits. It is not proposed to make any further allowances for fruit preservation during the present season.
