§ Mr. Parkerasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that, on the authority of the police, seven men of long service and good record have been dismissed from the Barking Power Station for a reason undisclosed to the trade unions of which the men are members; and whether, in view of the feeling which has been created by these summary dismissals, he will accede to the request of the unions who have asked him for an interview to discuss the matter?

AndersonI have made inquiries and an informed that the police were in no way concerned in the discharge of these men, I have, therefore, no responsibility in the matter and an informing the union that in the circumstances no useful purpose would be served by my meeting their representatives.
