§ Mr. Parkinsonasked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the case in Lowton Road, Golborne, where 13 men travelling to their work were trapped in a blazing lorry, with the result that one died and the remainder were treated at the Wigan infirmary; that the vehicle in question was an ordinary tipping wagon, not licenced for the conveyance of passengers; and whether he will immediately terminate the use of tipping lorries for this purpose?
§ Sir J. ReithMy attention has not previously been drawn to this unfortunate accident. As it is the subject of judicial inquiry it would not be proper for me to make any comment on it at present.
