§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that a method of protecting, by a new form of breastplate, individual members of His Majesty's Forces from the commoner modem war injuries, was submitted to the War Office, whose reply disowned interest in the subject, whereas the Air Ministry was immediately responsive; and whether he will make inquiry into this method which is commended by a considerable volume of expert opinion, and may, if its claims are substantiated, prove of vital importance?
§ Mr. EdenI am not aware that the War Office has disowned interest in the subject of chest armour. Experiments have been carried out, but I do not think it would be desirable to make any further public statement on the matter.
