HC Deb 06 August 1940 vol 363 c43W
Mr. Groves

asked the Postmaster-General whether the policy of eliminating telephone calls during the currency of air-raid warnings and during raids is to be applied to doctors and to those seeking to communicate with them?

Captain Waterhouse

Arrangements made to restrict telephone calls during serious air raids will leave doctors' lines in operation. Any subscriber who in such circumstances finds his own line is not working should go to the nearest public call office.
