In the case of elementary and special schools the rate of grant is 50 per cent. or the rate payable on the authority's elementary education expenditure as a whole under the current Elementary Education Grant Regulations, whichever is the higher. In the case of expenditure met from loan, these rates of grant are paid upon the loan charges.
