§ Mr. Lyonsasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the great potential danger in the barring of doors on certain suburban railway trains, he will now give orders for their immediate removal in the interests of public safety?
1508W
§ Captain WallaceBars are only placed across the windows of the doors on certain suburban trains of exceptional width to prevent passengers from leaning out of the windows and being injured owing to the small clearance at certain points on the lines. In the interests of safety I do not think it desirable that these particular bars should be removed.
