HC Deb 20 September 1939 vol 351 c971W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Lord Privy Seal, as representing the Minister of Information, whether his attention has been called to reports from Helsinki of the inadequacy of British propaganda in Finland; and whether he will take steps to see that the objects for which Britain is fighting are more widely understood in that country and generally to counteract the influence of German propaganda among the Finns?

Sir E. Grigg

My Noble Friend has seen the reports in the Press to which my hon. Friend no doubt refers, and is aware of the extent of German propaganda in Finland. Whilst he has no reason to think that the objects for which Britain is fighting are not already widely understood in that country, steps are being taken to facilitate the rapid supply of fuller information about British aims and policy to those who desire it.
