HC Deb 13 September 1939 vol 351 c653W
Mr. Mander

asked the Prime Minister when and where it is proposed that the forthcoming meetings of the Council and Assembly of the League of Nations will be held?

Mr. Butler

The French Government and His Majesty's Government proposed to the Secretary-General of the League that the meetings of the Council and the Assembly should be postponed because in present circumstances it would be impossible for their delegations to reach Geneva. This suggestion, which was communicated to States Members of the Assembly and Council, has been accepted. No new date for the meetings has as yet been fixed, but there is no suggestion that, when practicable, these will not be held at Geneva.
