MorrisonOwing to irregularity in arrivals in the early weeks of the war, it was not possible for a time to release in all cases sufficient deliveries of bacon, butter and lard to meet the rate of consumption, which has been above the average. Alternative materials have usually been available. The position has now improved. Opportunities have been taken through the usual publicity channels to explain the position, which I believe is generally well understood, and this practice will be continued.
