§ Sir T. Mooreasked the Secretary of State for War whether it is intended to publish the Report of the Oliver Committee appointed to inquire into the law governing courts-martial; and whether it is proposed to introduce legislation at an early date to give effect to the findings of that committee?
§ Sir V. WarrenderThe answer to both parts of the question is "No, Sir." The main recommendations of the Committee related to the appointment, constitution and functions of the Judge Advocate General and his office. As it is not practicable to make the proposed alterations during the war, it would would not be possible, if the report were published now, to indicate the decisions of His Majesty's Government thereon, and its publication has therefore been deferred.
