§ Mr. Toucheasked the Secretary of State for War whether many anti-aircraft units are still living in tents; and whether he can make any statement as to when huts are likely to be provided for such units?
§ Sir V. WarrenderHutting for all antiaircraft units is proceeding as rapidly as possible, and, in the meantime every effort has been made to obtain sufficient accommodation near anti-aircraft sites in billets and requisitioned buildings. It is, however, still necessary to accommodate some 18 per cent. of the strength in tents.
At all but one-half per cent. of gun and searchlight sites, it will be possible to dispense with tents by the middle of November, and at the outstanding one-half per cent. by the middle of December. Provision of special heating arrangements for personnel in tents is in hand.
