§ Mr. Leslieasked the Secretary of State for War why similar pharmaceutical service is not provided in the Army as is provided in the Navy; and what representations on the subject have been made to him by the council of the Guild of Public Pharmacists?
§ Sir V. WarrenderI am advised that the requirements of the Army are adequately met by the existing organisation. In addition to those normally employed in peace time, I am informed that over 100 fully qualified pharmacists have been enlisted as dispensers into the medical services since the outbreak of war.
540WThe Council of the Guild of Pharmacists have made frequent representations regarding the pharmaceutical services of the Army over a period of many years, but nothing that has transpired during these discussions has caused the Army Council to modify their opinion as to the proved efficacy of the existing arrangements.
