The Table below gives statistics in respect of men aged 60 and over registered as unemployed in England and Wales, respectively, at 1st May, 1939; separate figures have not been compiled for South Wales. Corresponding figures are not available in respect of the year 1924. An analysis according to duration of unemployment can be given only in respect of persons applying for benefit or allowances.
