§ Sir A. Wilsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he intends to issue a circular to Government Departments authorising them not to retire compulsorily ex-service men who are still physically fit but who have not yet been allowed to count enough of their un-established service to entitle them to a pension; and whether he will instruct them to re-engage such men who have recently retired and are physically fit in preference to giving temporary employment to young women and men to whom other forms of service are open?
§ Sir J. SimonA Treasury circular, of which I am sending my hon. and gallant Friend a copy, has been issued to Departments regarding the retention, during the war period, of officers who would otherwise retire on age grounds and the re-employment of officers who have already retired.
