Wing-CommanderJames asked the Home Secretary how many of the 1,500 refugees who, on 2nd August, were being trained in this country for emigration to Palestine have now left for that country; and how soon it is anticipated that the remainder will leave.
§ Sir J. AndersonSince the beginning of August about 40 refugees have left the United Kingdom for Palestine, and a further hundred persons are expected to leave shortly, under the auspices of the voluntary organisations in the United Kingdom. It is not possible in present circumstances to indicate when other refugees who may wish to emigrate to Palestine will be able to do so.
