§ Mr. PeakeOn the outbreak of war three persons who had been employed in the office of the German Consul at Glasgow were detained in custody until arrangements could be made for their return to Germany. There is no foundation for any suggestion that during the period of their detention they were harshly treated. On the contrary, everything was done to make their detention as little irksome as possible, and two of them expressed thanks for their kindly and considerate treatment.
