HC Deb 14 November 1939 vol 353 c556W
Mr. Burke

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will cause instructions to be issued with the object of ensuring that soldiers who were sent overseas in the early days of the war and who have not reached 20 years of age will receive prior consideration for Christmas leave?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The Commander-in-Chief has been asked to give special consideration to those who did not receive embarkation leave before they went to France, and this will apply equally to those under 20 and those over 20.
