HC Deb 14 November 1939 vol 353 c565W
Colonel Sandeman Allen

asked the Paliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether his attention has been drawn to the case of James W. Jeffrey, alias Jim Brett, a Communist leader in Birkenhead; and, in view of the fact that this man was fined £5 recently for disturbing the public peace, is he satisfied that this man should remain a teacher in a State-aided school?

Mr. Lindsay

I have seen a Press report of this case and am making inquiries. I must defer my answer to my hon. and gallant Friend's question until the inquiries are complete.
