HC Deb 09 November 1939 vol 353 c451W
Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Health the number of patients on the waiting list for admission to tuberculosis hospitals and sanatoria in Wales on the last convenient date; what steps are being taken to increase the available accommodation; and whether such schemes will be given favourable immediate consideration?

Mr. Elliot

I am informed that on 28th October last the number of patients on the waiting list for admission to tuberculosis sanatoria and hospitals in Wales was 225, or, including patients discharged by reason of the Emergency Hospital Scheme and awaiting re-admission, about 600. As regards the last two parts of the question, the hutted hospitals in Denbigh and at Chepstow are making steady progress and these will I hope be of assistance, subject to the requirements of the casualty service, in connection with the treatment of tuberculous patients.
