HC Deb 09 November 1939 vol 353 c456W
Mr. R. Gibson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of war-time conditions now prevailing which was not in contemplation when the Marriage (Scotland) Act, 1939, was passed, the Government has considered the question of postponing the date of the coming into operation of the provisions, or some of the provisions, of that Act; and if he has any statement to make on the subject?

Mr. Colville

This matter is at present the subject of consideration and I hope to be able to make a statement at an early date.
