§ Mr. E. BrownI would refer the hon. Member to the provisions of the Unemployment Assistance (Emergency Powers) Act, 1939, and to the Unemployment Assistance (Prevention and Relief of Distress) Regulations, 1939, laid on the 7th September, 1939, which make provision for giving assistance to the class of person mentioned by the hon Member.
