§ Mr. ElliotI have received a number of representations on this matter which on investigation have been found to relate to the making of amendments in respect of particular hereditaments in the current list. As my predecessor pointed out in the Debate on the Second Reading of the Rating (Postponement of Valuations) Bill, it was important to preserve the right to make amendments when it was clear that an assessment was not in conformity with the general level of assessments in the area.
