The Forestry Commission are undertaking experiments with modern apparatus in the production of charcoal2116W and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research at its Forest Products Research Laboratory are carrying on experiments towards the improvement of the technique of burning to ensure charcoal of suitable quality.
