§ Captain CrookshankOf the taxation included in the Budget Estimates for 1939–40, 62.5 per cent. is attributable to direct taxes and 37.5 per cent. to indirect taxes. The motor vehicle duties are included among the direct taxes and the duty on petrol among the indirect taxes.
