asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he can state the number of allotments cultivated in England and Wales during each of the last seven years?

The latest information available for the whole of England and Wales is that returned as at 31st December, 1934, when the estimated total number of allotments was 936,000. No information is available as to the position at 31st December, 1931, but the corresponding figure as at 31st December, 1930, was 965,000. The returns for the years 1932, 1933 and 1935 to 1938, are confined to urban authorities. The figures for 1938 are not yet available: the figures for the other years are as follow:
