HC Deb 09 May 1939 vol 347 cc311-2W
Mr. Edwards

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the growing number of protests in the House of Commons against the sale of British materials to Germany for the purpose of armament manufacture, he will now specifically refer this question to the Committee of Imperial Defence with a view to finding the best method of limiting such sales and obtaining the co-operation of the Dominions?

The Prime Minister

No, Sir. Careful consideration has already been given to this matter, which has formed the subject of numerous answers in this House. I do not consider that any useful purpose would be served by referring the question to the Committee of Imperial Defence.
