§ Mr. Greenwoodasked the Minister of Health on what date he received the report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on the prices of building materials, with reference to increased cement prices; whether any approach has been made to the cement manufacturers to consider a reduction in prices; and, if so, on what date such approach was made?
§ Mr. ElliotThe report, which was made to my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade and to me, was received by us on the 21st December last. We considered it in consultation and decided that negotiations with the manufacturers should be initiated. These began on 8th March and are now in progress.
