§ Mr. Malcolm MacMillanasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the very bad condition of the Milbost and Branahuie road, Point, Isle of Lewis; and can he state what action he is taking, in consultation with the local authority, for its reconstruction?
§ Mr. BurginI am advised that the county council maintain this road in a reasonable condition, having regard to traffic requirements and the limited funds available for the purpose. The initiation of a scheme for its reconstruction rests upon the county council. In the event of their applying for a grant I should be prepared to give the matter consideration.
