§ Mr. Lennox-BoydFrom the commencement of the scheme up to 31st March, 1939, the approximate total receipts of the Agricultural Account of the Unemployment Fund, the amount paid out in benefit and the charge apportioned in respect of administration were as follow:
£ Total receipts (including income from investments) 5,000,000 Benefit paid 1,614,000 Administration 614,000 Contributions became payable as from 4th May, 1936, and benefit as from 5th November, 1936.
The charge for administration includes the cost of the initial operations in setting up the agricultural scheme and, in accordance with the recommendation of the Unemployment Insurance Statutory Committee, is calculated at one-eighth of the net contribution income of the Agricultural Account.
