Mr. Jenkinsasked the Minister of Health whether he is now in a position to make a statement as to his proposals for dealing with the causes of the high incidence of tuberculosis in Wales and Monmouthshire as revealed in the report of the Committee into Anti-Tuberculosis Services in Wales and Monmouthshire?
§ Mr. ElliotAs I have indicated in reply to previous questions, I am in communication on the report generally with the local authorities and bodies concerned, and any general statement must await completion of these consultations. Meantime, I would refer to the answers given to the hon. Member for Llanelly (Mr. J. Griffiths) on the 8th June, and to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Cardiff, South (Captain Evans) on the 11th May, as to the immediate action which I have taken in regard to the increase of hospital accommodation for tuberculosis and the improvement of housing conditions.
