WarrenderThe numbers of recruits finally approved for the Regular Army during the calendar year 1938, and during the period 1st January to 31st May, 1939, were 38,827 and 20,197, respectively. The numbers of applicants for enlistment into the Regular Army during the periods in question who were rejected at medical examination were 7,299 and 3,278 respectively.
