Mr. De la Bèreasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the postponement of a measure for the reorganisation of electricity supplies, and the growing dissatisfaction of consumers generally at present conditions of supply, he will consult with the Electricity Commissioners with a view to directing the attention of the supply interests to the urgent necessity for a greater standardisation of tariffs, 2040W charges, and voltages, and for the wider application of the two-part tariff system of charging, so that such tariff may be available at a reasonable price for consumers everywhere?
§ Captain WallaceThe possibility of securing greater standardisation of tariffs, charges and voltages is continually under review by the Electricity Commissioners. With regard to the concluding part of the question I am informed that a two part tariff for domestic supplies is already available in the areas of the large majority of undertakings.
