§ Sir A. Wilsonasked the Undersecretary of State for Burma whether he has now decided to complete railway connections between Yunan and Burma via Kunlong ferry; and whether the strategical and other implications of this proposal have been fully considered by the Committee of Imperial Defence as well as by the Governments of India and Burma?
§ Lieut.-Colonel MuirheadThe proposals for a railway connection of Burma with Yunan which have so far been put before my noble Friend have not been sufficiently specific to enable a decision to be taken. All proposals for such a connection would of course receive the fullest consideration by the military advisers of His Majesty's Government as well as by the Governments of Burma and India.
