§ Mr. Grovesasked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware of the scales of salaries appertaining (to stores and accounts officers in the Air Ministry works directorate; and, in view of the additional work due to expansion which increases the already long working hours without any additional pay being given in compensation, he will consider raising the salary of £475 to a figure commensurate with such responsibilities?
§ Sir K. WoodThe present scale of £475–£575 was agreed to less than two years ago in place of the previous scale of £456–£515, and I regret that I do not feel justified in re-opening the matter at the present time.
