§ Mr. R. Gibsonasked the First Commissioner of Works when ice ceased to be placed in the intake-air chambers of the House of Commons; and whether he will consider a revival of this practice during periods of hot weather?
§ Mr. RamsbothamIce has not been used for cooling the air supplied to any part of the Houses of Parliament for at least 30 years. I have no information as to periods earlier than that, but it would not be practicable to make use of ice for this purpose with the present form of ventilation.
