Morganasked the First Commissioner of Works whether the negotiations for taking other suitable alternative premises for the Stratford third district tax office in Deanery Road, Stratford, are still proceeding or if they have broken down, and, in view of the bad conditions prevailing in this office, he can press for further efforts to be made with the negotions so that the offer of the firm of builders can be considered again?
§ Mr. RamsbothamWhilst negotiations with the building lessor have not broken down, the terms so far offered by the lessor are regarded as excessive and alternative methods of dealing with the problem are now under consideration. I hope that a final decision in the matter will not be unduly delayed.
