§ Mr. Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider what steps can be taken to expedite the dealing with claims for the repayment of Income Tax?
§ Sir J. Simon:I can assure my hon. Friend that the Board of Inland Revenue are fully alive to the importance of dealing promptly with claims for repayment of Income Tax and that all possible steps are taken to secure that this object is achieved. If my hon. Friend has any particular cases in mind and will send me details of them I will cause inquiry to be made.
